Copyright and DMCA Policy

How we respect copyright, how to report infringement under the DMCA, how counter-notices work, and our repeat-infringer policy.

PowerProof Home respects the intellectual property of others and expects readers and contributors to do the same. We publish only original work, content we are licensed to use, and properly attributed material used within fair use. We do not copy images from search engines or other websites, and we do not republish proprietary databases, reviews, or photos.

Our content

Unless otherwise noted, text, calculators, graphics, logos, and original images on this Site are owned by PowerProof Home. Licensed stock photos are used under their license terms, and we keep records of their source. See our Terms for permitted uses.

Reporting infringement (DMCA notice)

If you believe content on this Site infringes your copyright, send a written notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3)) to our designated agent at hello@powerproofhome.com with “DMCA Notice” in the subject line. Your notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature, as the owner or a person authorized to act for the owner.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed (or a representative list if there are several).
  3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing and enough information to locate it, such as the page URL.
  4. Your contact information: name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

We will review complete notices promptly and remove or disable access to material where appropriate. Please note that under 17 U.S.C. 512(f) you may be liable for damages if you knowingly misrepresent that material is infringing. Consider fair use before sending a notice.

Counter-notice

If material you submitted was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address including: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address, and telephone number, with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice. We may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action.

Repeat infringers

We will remove the ability to submit content from anyone who repeatedly infringes others’ copyrights.

Canada

If you are in Canada, we will also respond to notices under the Copyright Act’s notice-and-notice regime where applicable.
